Got opinions on vaping? Roswell to host North Fulton parent session


If you have feelings about vaping, the Fulton County Board of Health wants to hear your opinion.

The agency said on Facebook that it is holding a focus group for parents in North Fulton at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

There’s been a growing national conversation around the safety of the devices as more and more people have reported being harmed by vaping.

Nearby Alpharetta on Monday limited where the shops can go and how much they can sell in tobacco/vape items.

Vapes and e-cigarettes have a small heating element that turns liquid nicotine — often mixed with flavoring — into a vapor that doesn’t linger or smell like tobacco smoke. Some devices can take cartridges that have THC, the substance in marijuana that gives a high, but these are not legal in Georgia.

The Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in August released word about the first death linked to vaping. The second Georgia death was confirmed earlier this month. The third was announced this week.

The local focus group will last 60 to 90 minutes at the East Roswell Library, 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road.
